Return to Acadia
Today we went back to Acadia—missing Jill, who is back in St. Louis. My mom was thrilled we got to see the water at high tide (how she envisioned the Maine ocean).
One Morning in Maine: Just Us Two.
Today, Jonathan's parents decided a day of rest would be good so Jonathan and decided to get up early and drive an hour back to Bar Harbor for breakfast and a bit of walking around town and just being together. We started out at Cafe This Way, a gem we had found on a camping trip we took to Bar Harbor over 10 years ago. It was still there and still delicious!

After that we took a walk along the rocky shoreline, another walk through the town and finally ended up back at the harbor. We shared the rather scandalous event of having a beer at 11:30 am at a restaurant right on pier.

A bit more wandering, and we ended our mini-getaway sharing a scoop of black raspberry ice cream on a bench in the town square. On the way home, we also stopped at a roadside stand for a quart of wild Maine blueberries. It was good to be together, especially as I was to head back to St. Louis alone the next morning. Back to work!!! :)

Vacation in Maine
We've been in Brooklin, Maine since Saturday with my parents. Saturday began with a text at 4:15 am telling us our 8:00 flight was cancelled; we scrambled and caught a 5:55 am flight to Boston, where Sarah picked us up and drive us to Manchester NH because that's where our rental car was. We finally made it up to Maine that evening around the time we had originally planned.
Yesterday we drove down to Deer Isle and had a seafood lunch, and a little drive around. Today we are off to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. All's going well so far!
