Memorial Day (cont.)

So, my Memorial Day began with a 90 minute restorative yoga class!!!  There were only 5 of us so I got lots of direction and I also pushed myself. Ouch!! But, I loved it!!  The theme was transition so we did lots of twisting and curving to focus on moving toward change and accepting it.  Twisting is just not my thing!

That evening we went over to our friends Amber and Garret for an evening of things yummy and/or Italian. We started with a wine tasting which was really just a test for garret to see if he could distinguish different Sauvignon Blancs from 3 different regions.  He guessed wrong but we learned SO much from him as he verbalized his thought process for his choices.  He wants to be a sommelier.  Jonathan wants to take the course with him.

Next was mushroom risotto, slow roasted pork belly, a Caesar salad and roasted fennel.  A & G put on an amazing spread.

Finally we all rather drowsily sat down to watch the classic film A Room with a View, a British film with Pucchini sound track and amazing scenes in beautiful Florence, Italy.  Romantic and hilarious and cheeky all at once!!

I worked long days on Saturday and Sunday so making the most of Monday was certainly my goal and it was a glorious day!
