Easter Joy!!
We started our day pretty early with a Latvian Easter brunch consisting of hard boiled eggs that had been dyed with onion skins, pickled gherkins and watermelon, brown bread w sliced veggies and tinned herring. We had to do Jonathan's Latvian heritage proud!
Non-vegan breakfast for two :)
Any excuse to break out the wedding china ;)
Then we headed downtown to Chriat Church Cathedral for Sunday service. Of course it was packed with all sorts including adore ale children in their Easter best!! The children decorated the cross with fresh cut flowers, the brass quartet played, and the choir was beautiful!! Reverend Mike gave a good sermon too, I just love his voice; always so clear and full of conviction.
After church, we headed to our dear friends Kristin and Abram's house for Easter lunch. It's so special when friends feel like family. Jonathan finished the paska (Latvian Easter cheesecake) and we all delighted in glazed ham, veggies and salad. Yum!! We even had a little Easter egg hunt outside for Simon (Grace was napping)
Later on we headed out for a walk with Grace in the stroller and Simon on his bike. It was so gorgeous!! Sunny and 65 degrees. We finished at the playground where Grace and I climbed and went down slides for a good half hour. It was simple but lovely day. It doesn't take much to make me happy: good friends, fresh air and cute kids
